Rick is a Minneapolis-based graduate of SMWW's Hockey GM & Scouting Course in August 2016.  He has scouting access to all high school, college, junior and pro hockey players in Minnesota, western Wisconsin, eastern North Dakota and Iowa.  He is uniquely qualified to find and detail hockey talent.

He is a semi-retired Information Technology worker of 30 years in the medical and power industries as a senior Oracle and Microsoft database administrator.  He holds degrees in Business Administration and Forest Management, work in Computer Management Science, along with a USA Hockey CEP background and hockey coaching education from the University of MN under Golden Gophers coaches.

He has a great depth of knowledge and experience in an enterprise IT setting for major US corporations and extensive database and data management skills. Through this experience he has honed excellent analytical and reporting skills using many business applications, including direct hockey industry applications STEVA and RINKNET.

Rick has been passionately involved in hockey from an early age as a player, coach, and fan, and   follows the game with a strategic eye.  He is an original season ticket holder and fan of the Minnesota Wild (prior to that the Minnesota North Stars), and is also a fan of the University of MN hockey program.

Not only does Rick have an extreme love of the game of hockey, but he holds a great knowledge base in hockey and athletic concepts from having coached multiple sports.  He has a sharp detail-oriented nature, a clear and insightful communication style, and has a great eye for hockey talent – what a player is now, what potential a player has, and how they can fit into an organization.

Rick seeks to build strong working relationships with teams to apply his expertise to ensure they have the complete set of information needed to find the best hockey talent and the greatest fit for their teams.
